The Wolves got a triple-double from star Lilly Worthen and 46 digs from Piper Manning, but it wasn’t enough to hold off Aberdeen on Thursday night. The Bobcats triumphed 25-23, 24-26, 26-24, 15-25, 15-10 in an Evergreen Conference thriller.

Now two league games in, Black Hills (6-3, 0-2 EvCo) has lost in five sets both times and overall has dropped three matches in a row. Worthen posted a stat line of 19 digs, 18 kills and 13 assists while Tyler Venable had 21 digs and five aces.

Janessa Balsley also added eight kills in the front row for the Wolves. They’ll aim to bounce back on Tuesday when they host Thurston County rival Tumwater on Tuesday night.

“We played hard and continued to battle throughout the entire match, but consistency is something we’re continuing to work on,” Black Hills head coach Kendra Dunn said. “We need to find a way to start our matches with more energy and carry that momentum from the first point.”
